A Galashiels Story on the Big Screen

It’s something really special when a local story makes it to film – and that’s exactly what’s happening with I Swear, the story of John Davidson MBE from Galashiels.

Set in Scotland, the film follows John’s journey after being diagnosed with Tourette’s at 15. Targeted as “insane” by his peers, he struggled with a condition few had ever witnessed. As an adult, he found his life’s purpose campaigning for better understanding and acceptance of Tourette’s, work that earned him an MBE from the Queen in 2019.

Now his story is being told on the big screen, raw, emotional and inspiring, with performances from Robert Aramayo, Maxine Peake, Shirley Henderson, Peter Mullan, and members of the Tourette’s community.

You’ll be able to see it soon at our local cinema.
