As part of its 150th anniversary celebrations, Burgh Primary School has struck a chord with the town once again – quite literally.
P6 and P7 pupils have been working with former Burgh pupil Alan Windram to create a brand new version of the school’s much-loved song, bringing fresh lyrics and energy to a tune many in Galashiels will remember from their own school days.
The project was made possible thanks to Burgh being one of just ten schools across Scotland to receive a Writer in Residency award from the Scottish Book Trust – a fantastic achievement in itself.
The updated song, which blends the original with a new verse written by the pupils, is now available to watch in a beautifully put-together video created by P6.
