BID for Galashiels continues to hear from both local businesses and the wider community about the challenges facing the town centre and the current pressures affecting small and independent businesses.
From rising costs and economic uncertainty to changing consumer habits, many businesses are continuing to navigate a difficult trading environment, and BID says it is important these concerns are heard beyond the local level.
While the organisation continues to focus on delivering practical projects, events and support within Galashiels, BID representatives recently met with John Lamont MP to share the experiences, comments and concerns being raised directly by levy payers and the wider business community.
The meeting, attended by Mags Fenner, Project Manager for BID for Galashiels, and Lewis Roden, Chair of BID for Galashiels, provided an opportunity to discuss the realities facing businesses in Galashiels and ensure local voices are being represented at a wider government level.
BID for Galashiels says continuing these conversations is an important part of advocating for the town and ensuring both businesses and the community feel heard during an increasingly challenging economic period.
