Galashiels has once again enjoyed a fantastic Braw Lads’ Gathering, with sunshine for most of the week providing the perfect backdrop for one of the town’s most treasured traditions. From the opening events through to the ride outs and Gala Day celebrations, the town was filled with excitement. Streets were lined with spectators, local businesses welcomed visitors from near and far, and there was a real sense of pride and community throughout the week.
None of this would have been possible without the dedication of the Braw Lads’ Gathering Committee, the countless volunteers, participants, sponsors, local organisations, emergency services and everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to deliver another outstanding week of celebrations. Their commitment ensures this unique tradition continues to thrive for future generations.
To Braw Lad Ruaridh, Braw Lass Chloe and their Attendants, congratulations on representing Galashiels with such pride throughout the Gathering.
Yvonne Keddie, Chairman of the Braw Lads’ Executive Council, said:
"Another Braw Lads' Gathering has come to a close, and what a wonderful week it has been. It has been fantastic to see the town come together to celebrate our unique traditions, with so many people taking part and supporting events throughout the week. The Gathering simply wouldn't happen without the dedication of our committee, volunteers, sponsors, emergency services and the wider community, and I'd like to thank every single person who played a part. I'd also like to congratulate our Braw Lad, Braw Lass and their Attendants for representing Galashiels with such pride. We wish them a memorable summer as they continue their journey, creating friendships and memories that will last a lifetime."
