Burgh Primary Club 150

Burgh Primary School is marking 150 years of education in Galashiels with a special project bringing past and present pupils together.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, the Club 150 has been launched, inviting former teachers, pupils, and their families to share their memories, stories, and photos of the school. A new Facebook page has been set up to help reconnect generations of Burgh families, leading up to a planned open day this spring, where past pupils and staff will have the chance to walk the corridors once again.

The latest phase of the anniversary celebrations is backed by three generations of a Burgh family and supported by former Braw Lass Amy Thomson, who teaches at the school. Pupils will also get the chance to learn about Victorian-era school life, connecting Burgh’s past with its future.

With thousands of pupils passing through its doors since 1875, the school hopes to reconnect with many of them throughout 2025. To share your memories, visit the Burgh Primary Galashiels Memories Facebook page.
