Gala Fairydean Rovers Football Club Community Trust is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a grant of £1750 by the Hayward Sanderson Trust, funding that will go to invest in eight new sets of goals for the Youth Academy.
Providing a diverse football offering, the Club is responsible for the adult male first team and other associated commercial activities, while the Community Trust includes all the other elements that previously comprised of the Club’s Community Engagement Programme, such as Junior and Youth Football, Amateur Football, the Women’s and Girls’ section, Para (Disability) Football, and Over 50s Walking Football.
Graeme McIver, Trust Chair, said: “The support of the Hayward Sanderson Trust comes at an exciting time for us, as we continue to develop both the programme and the facilities at our home, the 3G Arena Netherdale.
The club has seen significant growth in its Girls’ section over the past 12 months and its players will be one of the main beneficiaries of the funding.
Graeme continued: “The entire GFR Community Trust family extends their appreciation to the Hayward Sanderson Trust for the generosity with the grant award which will allow us to cater for a growing number of young players from both our male and female sections.’
Hayward Sanderson Trust makes a significant number of grants of varying amounts each year.
Martin Hunt, Hayward Sanderson Trustee said: “The work of everyone at Gala Fairydean Rovers Football Community Trust is commendable. We are delighted to be able to support their efforts and look forward to watching the organisation go from strength to strength.”
The Hayward Sanderson Trust welcomes applications from across the Scottish Borders, in particular Galashiels, and encourage people to get in touch about making an application for funding.
