Galashiels boxer Lara Brown proudly represented Scotland at this summer’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, making her Games debut on home soil.
Competing in the featherweight division, Lara was part of Scotland’s 11-strong boxing squad and one of a record five female boxers selected to represent the host nation.
A former Earlston High School pupil and member of Tranent’s Bronx Boxing Gym, Lara earned her place through a series of impressive performances, competing on one of the biggest stages in international boxing.
Congratulations to Lara on reaching this fantastic milestone. Representing Galashiels, the Scottish Borders and Scotland at the Commonwealth Games is a tremendous achievement, and one the whole community can be proud of.
