The Galashiels Heartland Awards, a beloved community event initially funded by the Build a Better Gala project, have attracted fantastic local support, with tens of thousands of votes cast over the past two years. These awards have been a great way for the community to celebrate the town’s favourite businesses and organisations.
We’re keen to see the awards return for another year, and we’re sure the business and local community feel the same. However, with the original funding now concluded, the event would need to be self-funded. To make this happen, we’re seeking a main event sponsor and businesses or individuals to sponsor one of the ten award categories—including four exciting new additions
Andrew Poole from The Pavilion Cinema, a previous winner and strong supporter of the awards, highlights the value of the event for local businesses. Reflecting on the impact of the awards, Andrew shares:
“In 2024 we were proud to win the Best Leisure & Entertainment award at the Heartland Awards. The whole nominations and awards process is an excellent way to promote our business, generate genuinely positive feedback and engage with our customers about something other than what films were showing. Winning the award generated significant positive engagement on our social channels – and in person from our amazing and loyal customers when they visited us after the awards.”
For businesses across Galashiels, the awards offer more than just a trophy—they create a unique opportunity to showcase their hard work, build customer relationships, and be part of a shared celebration of the town’s local economy.
If you’d like to learn more about becoming an official sponsor and the benefits it offers, please get in touch with Emily from McGowan Marketing at emily@mcgowanmarketing.co.uk.
While we work to secure sponsors, mark your calendar for the finals event evening on 28th March 2025! We hope to see you there.
