Galashiels’ Young Entrepreneurs Prepare to Impress the Judges

Ten pupils from Galashiels Academy have spent the past school year taking part in the Young Enterprise Company Programme, setting up and running their own businesses as part of the national initiative.

The programme will conclude next month with a finals event, where schools from across the region will compete for the title of company of the year. To help them prepare, the Galashiels teams recently took part in a trial session, where members of the Galashiels and District Rotary Clubacted as ‘dragons’, interviewing the teams and offering valuable advice.

Local businesses Take to the Water and TIJ Barbers have also been mentoring the teams, sharing their experience and guidance. The final submissions take place at Earlston High School on 13th March, with the winning team progressing to the Scottish finals.

Galashiels and District Rotary Club members were impressed by the pupils’ enthusiasm, creativity, and professionalism in presenting their business ideas. Join us in wishing both Galashiels teams the best of luck!
