Little Art Hub Secures Major Creative Scotland Funding for “Imagine Galashiels”

There has been exciting news for Galashiels’ creative community, with The Little Art Hub successfully securing £102,589 over 18 months from Creative Scotland’s Culture Collective fund for its new project, Imagine Galashiels.

This significant funding recognises the growing impact of grassroots creative activity in the town and will support a programme designed to spark imagination, creativity and collaboration across the community.

The project will explore what the team describes as “places of possibilities” in Galashiels, working from the “edges to the centre” of the town and encouraging people to think differently about arts and culture through the guiding question: “What if?”

Through the Imagine Galashiels programme, The Little Art Hub will work closely with local residents, creative practitioners and partner organisations including Energise Galashiels Trust, CABN and Transform Arts CIC. Together they will develop a series of artist residencies, events and temporary creative interventions inspired by shared ideas, stories and ambitions from the community.

The aim is to encourage curiosity and creativity in everyday spaces, evolving projects and activities that reflect the people and stories of Galashiels while inviting new ways of experiencing the town.

Securing funding through Creative Scotland’s Culture Collective programme is a major achievement. The national fund supports projects that place communities at the heart of creative activity, and the award recognises the strength of the proposal and the potential impact it can have locally.

The Little Art Hub team has described the award as an exciting opportunity for both the organisation and the wider town, and plans are already underway to begin developing the project and announcing ways for people to get involved.

The team has also thanked everyone who has supported their work so far – from attending events and workshops to following their journey online – recognising that the community support behind the organisation has helped make this milestone possible.
