Masters Degree Show at Heriot-Watt

This month, the High Mill in Galashiels welcomed visitors to the annual Heriot-Watt University School of Textile and Design Masters Degree Show. The exhibition showcased the creativity and innovation of final year students from a wide range of disciplines, opening their work to the public in the historic converted textile mill where the School of Textiles and Design is based.

On display were fashion garments, textile designs, digital designs and more. The show celebrated both the individual talent of the students and the collaborative spirit that runs through the school.

One of this year’s graduates, Madison Craig, who completed a Masters in Fashion and Textile Design, reflected on her experience:

“It has been a bittersweet experience finishing my Masters here in Galashiels. I found this course so enjoyable. I was able to make amazing friends and family with my fellow students and draw inspiration for my own joy from around the community and through my friends. This course has been so rewarding in giving me the space to create freely and explore a variety of mediums. The professors here have been so supportive in encouraging me to use different tools and create as much as I possibly can.”
