Border Station Walks

Border Station Walks is a guidebook that celebrates the beauty and magnificence of the Scottish Borders. It contains 30 walks that begin and end at the three Border rail stations, Stow, Galashiels and Tweedbank. The routes are very varied and are designed to appeal to people of all abilities. They range from short low-level routes that navigate the side of rivers and lochs to more demanding high-level tracks over hills and moorland.  This guide is rich in local history and folklore with each route containing details on points of interest relevant to the walk.  From the ancient tribes who left their mark in fortifications, to the remarkable religious heritage still visible in the landscape as well as the folklore and legends that continue to excite the imagination. Each walk has route information detailing its length, ascent in metres, level of difficulty and the terrain you will encounter.  Maps are also included and are linked with the text to help ease navigation.
