Hike+bike Hub Hero

Hike & Bike Hub, Galashiels

As local residents, we love walking and cycling in and around our happy town! We want to promote active travel and healthy leisure activities – and make them available to everyone regardless of income. In our Hub, we will offer information about local walking and cycling routes, Walk It walks, led cycle rides, bike hire, bike repairs and servicing.

Our volunteer cycle mechanic will offer bike repairs and maintenance at affordable prices and will also support cyclists who want to learn to do their own repairs and maintenance.

Our hub manager will be there to help with any queries about our services or the other facilities available in and around the town.

We will be a “pay what you can” social enterprise, with those who can afford to pay our suggested prices for bike hire, bike servicing and led cycle rides helping to cover those costs for people who cannot.

Our other key priority is to raise everyday acceptance of autism</span> and we will strive to become an inclusive employer with a positive action recruitment policy to encourage, support and retain autistic staff members and volunteers. Neurotypical individuals will also be welcome!

So, whether you are passing by on a daily basis, or if you are a temporary local visiting for the day, pop in and have a chat with us from Saturday 4 February 2023. Winter opening hours will be Thursday to Sunday 10am to 4pm.
