We’re sharing this important update on behalf of Scottish Borders Council regarding the replacement CCTV system being introduced across seven towns in the Scottish Borders, including Galashiels.
After extensive collaboration with suppliers, the system has been carefully refined to maximise coverage and enhance safety in each of the towns involved. As part of this process, a public consultation is now live, and your input is invaluable.
The consultation, accessible here, offers you the opportunity to:
- View details on camera specifications.
- See illustrations of the proposed coverage areas.
- Use an interactive map to suggest points of interest.
Survey work carried out during late summer and autumn has provided vital insights, and the enabling infrastructure work, including fibre build preparations, is already underway to support the system. This is an exciting step towards creating a safer and more secure environment in Galashiels and the other towns involved.
Scottish Borders Council is promoting this consultation through its social media channels, and we encourage you to share it within your own networks. The more feedback received, the better the system can be tailored to meet community needs.
Take this chance to help shape an initiative that will have a lasting positive impact on our town and the survey is open until the 15th of December 2024.
Thank you for your support!
