While the new school is already looking incredibly impressive, Galashiels Academy is offering a final opportunity for the community to say goodbye to the old building before its demolition.
The school is hosting Tea and a Tour on Saturday 13th December 2025 from 10am to 11.15am. Visitors are invited to gather in the Assembly Hall for tea or coffee before setting off on an informal tour led by senior pupils. It’s a relaxed chance to wander the corridors one last time, revisit memories, and reflect on the rich history of the building. Tours will last between 30 minutes and an hour.
Memorabilia will also be available to purchase as a keepsake from the school’s long and proud history. Please bring cash if you wish to buy anything.
This is a free event, with parking available on site. Slower-paced tours will be offered for those who need them, and a lift is available for anyone requiring assistance.
A moment to reflect, remember, and say a fond farewell to a place that holds memories for so many.
