It won’t be long until Galashiels has its new school campus, and we’re already seeing changes take shape. The Scott Park gates are just a week away from completion, with freshly painted railings and new handrails to follow. This new entrance will welcome around 1,000 pupils and staff each day and is an important part of creating safe routes to school.
When the next phase of the campus is complete, planters and allotment spaces will be added, giving young people the chance to learn about sustainability and how to grow their own. In the meantime, S2 classes are already exploring ideas for how the upper Scott Park area could be developed in future – ensuring that pupil voices help shape the space for years to come.
The community can’t wait to see how the rest of the project progresses.
