The Scottish Borders has long been considered walking country; however, cycling is now pedalling its way up in popularity with locals and tourists. Galashiels benefits from fantastic local cycle routes with ample Road, Trail, and Mountain Biking opportunities in the surrounding area.
Galashiels will be hosting a Triathlon on the 15th-16th of April as part of the Live Borders Triathlon series, offering taster sessions on the Saturday for those keen to get involved. The town also works perfectly as an entry or exit point in the Coast to Coast 250 route, which will officially open in time for the UCI World Championships in Glasgow. In addition, our rail links to Edinburgh (and, in turn, the rest of the UK) make Galashiels the ideal destination to stop and stay a while.
You will find maps and information on the local trails below, with information on difficulty and the time it takes to cycle the route. Hike and Bike Hub in Galashiels also offer led cycles and are happy to provide more information on what is available for the keen Galashiels cyclist. Diamond Cycle Centre, who are keen cyclists themselves, offer a wide selection of services and products to keep you moving.
